Lazy ways of looking and thinking about painting have existed for some time now, especially with work described as abstract. It might be worthwhile saying here at the start that ‘abstraction’ is a fuzzy outdated term, particularly now in the age of the digital.

With the pandemic becoming our reality early in 2020, navigating the lived experience between the real and virtual world became a daily practice, as we were forced to pivot professional and social situations to the realm of the virtual.
This suspension between two realities coincides with a significant shift in the trajectory of contemporary painting, one fuelled through fluid notions of the real and reality.
This is the place of my painted world.
